Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home using a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All check here students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
